Minutes from January 22, 2024 Meeting
We are excited about many things that are coming up! Here is an update about things discussed at the last meeting. Minutes should be available on website and Facebook page.
The next meeting will be at 7:00, Feb. 12, 2024 MCS
As the basketball season is well under way, please look for ways to help. Refs and people to help with the score board are still needed. We appreciate all those that have stepped forward!!!
There is a basketball tournament coming up that we have been asked to join. The cost is $300 per team. MYA Athletics is willing to donate $100 for a team if they would like to play. This is for 5/6thGrade Boys and girls. Currently there is only one spot available for 6thgrade Boys. We are wondering what interest there is for this? They limited availability and look for teams that played previously before opening it up to other teams. So perhaps next year if it is desired, we could continue for other groups down the road.
Baseball Season is right around the corner! Registration is now open and runs through March 22. Registration fee is $35 through March 15. Starting March 16, 2024 a $35 late fee is added. Please register your kids ASAP so that we can get things organized for the upcoming season! We also need coaches so let us know if you are available to help. We need many coaches to make the season happen.Thank you Monalissa and Jolene for helping to get the flier together.
We now have apparel available with links on the website and Facebook page! Thank you, Brittany Hulick, for getting this together, and Jolene for your help with this! The purchase of apparel will generate a credit for other items that we need, like uniforms.
Thank you Mathia for your help with the Website!
This year we are going to be getting a new backstop and the pitcher’s mound is being improved. Thanks Lloyd and Ryan for your help with these projects!
Thank you anyone else I may have overlooked for your contributions as well!
Last year we had the largest number of kids register for Baseball/Softball than previous years! It is only looking like we are getting more traction with this program. With that in mind we are out growing our current field with it being constantly over booked and we are looking for ways to expand. The idea has been brought up to look at purchasing land for Milford Youth Athletics. A neighboring community did this and after raising $100 K they were able to get grants for about an additional $250 K to invest in a functional field. We would like feedback on this venture.
Thank you again for all your help,
Russ
